The OIL FILTER does as the name describes; it filters oil in your engine. As engine oil moves through and reduces friction between engine parts, the filter collects and traps contaminants, so they won't make their way into your vehicle's engine.
While your engine is working to maintain your car, it burns gas and produces harmful waste like sludge and debris.
